Multicultural EFT Supervision

Supervision is a vital part of professional growth for emotionally focused therapists. When working with clients from diverse backgrounds, it’s crucial to understand how aspects like ethnicity, culture, skin color, social location, and identity impact emotional dynamics in therapy.

Dr. Paul T. Guillory offers multicultural EFT supervision designed to guide therapists in deepening their cultural awareness and refining their EFT practice to meet the unique needs of multicultural clients.

Meet Your Supervisors

Multicultural clients often experience compounded stressors—from systemic oppression and generational trauma to identity fragmentation and acculturative stress. These realities can affect attachment, emotional regulation, and interpersonal relationships. Multicultural EFT supervision helps therapists not only recognize these layered experiences but also apply EFT interventions with cultural sensitivity and humility.

Through this supervision, Dr. Guillory supports therapists in:

  •  Integrating ethnicity and culture into EFT case conceptualization
  • Applying the EFT model to the lived experiences of diverse clients
  • Avoiding pathologizing culturally normative responses
  • Cultivating greater therapist self-awareness and presence

Whether you’re newer to emotionally focused therapy or seeking advanced support in working with diverse populations, multicultural EFT supervision provides a space for insight, growth, and excellence in clinical care.
